Maui Beaches -- Hana Beach Park

Hana Beach Park is one of the few Maui beaches in Hana. It is a favorite place for locals to get together on the weekends. Hana Beach definitely has more local people than tourists.

The water is generally very calm for swimming and safe for small children. It is the perfect spot to grab a plate lunch at the lunch wagon that has been there forever (I can't think of the name of it) and enjoy a picnic.

Hana Bay has always reminded me of Hanalei Bay on Kauai...both on the North Shores, both very picturesque bays with a pier.

You really can't get more Hawaii than Hana Bay. For a moment, forget about the resorts, 5 Star luxuries, and fancy meals. Get a feel for the lifestyle here in Hawaii...the laid back vibe and "Aloha Spirit" of the residents. Observe a family having a weekend picnic here...This is what Hawaii is all about.
