Oahu Sightseeing Itinerary

Whether you have one day or one week, let me help you plan your Oahu Sightseeing Itinerary to get the most out of your time on Oahu.

Day 1

Do a Circle Island Tour. If you only have one day here, this is what you should do. You can see the whole island in one day.

Beautiful Hawaiian Sunset

If you have more than one day, this doesn't have to be the first thing on your itinerary, but it should be one of the first. Skip the places that you plan to come back to.

Enjoy an oceanfront dinner (with a beautiful sunset like this) at Duke's Canoe Club or any of my other recommended Oahu restaurants...Or, stroll along Waikiki Beach Walk at sunset. Check out all the different beachfront resorts along the way. Then, hit the streets of Waikiki and people watch.

Oahu Sightseeing - Day 2

Sunset Beach on North Shore of Oahu

Go to the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor in the morning. Head up toward the North Shore.

Spend the day exploring historic Haleiwa town, and relax at a favorite beach you spotted the day before like Sunset Beach (pictured) on the North Shore.

Check out the Pali Lookout and Punchbowl on your way back into town. Finish off the day with a sunset cruise or a sunset dinner cruise.

Oahu Sightseeing - Day 3

Hanauma Bay Hawaii

Go snorkeling at Hanauma Bay (pictured). Keep in mind it is closed on Tuesdays. Grab lunch in Hawaii-Kai right down the hill from Hanauama Bay.

Drive along the beautiful southeast coastline of Oahu. Stop at the Halona Blow Hole and Sandy Beach. Either hike up Makapuu Lighthouse Trail or go to Sea Life Park.

Check out some of the best places to live on Oahu...Drive through such exclusive Oahu neighborhoods as:

  • Portlock in Hawaii-Kai, right on the point around Hanauma Bay.
  • Hawaii Loa Ridge
  • Diamond Head and Kahala area--Many consider this to be the "Beverly Hills" of Hawaii.

There is a Costco in Hawaii-Kai if you need to stop at one...and Roys in Hawaii-Kai is a great place for dinner.

Oahu Itinerary - Day 4

Lanikai Beach on Oahu, Hawaii

Grab breakfast at Boots & Kimos in Kailua. Explore Kailua town, and then head over to one of the many great beaches on the windward side like Kailua Beach or Lanikai Beach (pictured).

Rent a kayak or boogie board or take a windsurfing lesson. Head back for a fun evening luau.

Oahu Sightseeing - Day 5

Ala Moana Beach Sunset

On a Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday, go to the Aloha Swap Meet in the morning. Spend the afternoon at Ala Moana Beach Park (pictured), and then go over to Ala Moana Shopping Center and Victoria Ward Center.

A great way to do this is on the Waikiki Trolley. Check out Chinatown and the other trolley stops as well.

Oahu Sightseeing - Day 6

Go on a dolphin watching (or whale watching) tour in the morning. Get a chance to see these creatures in their natural habitat...It is something you will never forget.

Take a surfing lesson in the afternoon or maybe a canoe or catamarran ride at Waikiki Beach.

Oahu Sightseeing - Day 7

If this is your last day, just relax at one of your favorite beaches that you found or go back and do something again that you really enjoyed. I've found that alot of people want to go snorkeling again.

Maybe you can ride a submarine or go on a catamaran ride (like the one pictured)...Whatever you really enjoyed doing, do it.

These are just a few of the many ways you can spend your Perfect Hawaiian Vacation.
