North Shore Oahu Beaches | Turtle Beach

When I was growing up, you would not have found this on any list or map of Oahu beaches because technically, it really is not a beach. Turtle Beach has somehow come into existence and been named because of the turtles that hang out here.

It actually sits at the north end of Laniakea Beach and the surf spot Lani's. You can't miss it as you go north pass Haleiwa...it is the first open beach area after Haleiwa and has a dirt parking area on the mauka (mountain) side of the road. There are usually cars parked right in front of the area where the turtles are.

Note--Please remember it is illegal to touch, harm, or harass the Hawaiian green sea turtle (honu) in any way!
