This Oahu luxury hotel is located on the quiet leeward (west) coast of Oahu, about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki. The JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa is nestled among two timeshares and a community that includes million dollar residences.
2009 Update--Disney is planning on opening a resort here in 2011. Paradise Cove Luau is also located on the premises. There is also a grocery store that is supposed to open in 2010...but there are many restaurants, shops, a Costco, and Hawaii's first Target store located in the neighboring town of Kapolei 5 minutes away.
Among its 640 acres are four man-made lagoons perfect for swimming. Connecting the lagoons is a walkway (pictured below) perfect for running and beachfront strolls.
The large rooms all have spacious lanais (balconies), and most rooms have an ocean view.
Note--Don't try and get a room here during the annual Pro Bowl which is usually the first or second week in February. The resort is booked only for the NFL (National Football League).
