Big Island Beaches -- Hapuna Beach
Hapuna Beach ranks in my Top 2 Big Island beaches...the top spot is a toss up with Kauna'oa Beach in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. If I had to choose one, I would have to give Hapuna the edge because the parking can be a pain at Kauaoa.
Hapuna Beach has been named “best beach” by Dr. Beach, Steven Leatherman. It is generally calm so it is perfect for novice swimmers, snorkeling, and children. The summer months are generally the calmest. It is located in front of the Hapuna Prince Hotel.
In the winter, it can get rough and provides more action for bodysurfers and boogie-boarders. Amenities:
