Big Island Beaches -- Spencer Beach

This is another one of the Big Island beaches that has a protected swimming area...making it perfect for children. Spencer Beach Park is located just south of Kawaihae Harbor.

It is almost always calm as it is protected by a reef. Besides amenities such as BBQs and picnic tables, camping is also permitted here. There is also a path along the ocean that will take you all the way to Hapuna Beach.
