Germaines Luau -- Luaus on Oahu
Germaines Luau is located on the leeward (west) coast of Oahu on a beautiful oceanfront setting. Upon arrival, everyone gets a shell lei at the entrance. If you sit up front, you may be lucky enough to get a flower lei too!
Seating is either on the ground (sand) right in front of the stage or on picnic style tables.
No luau on Oahu (or Hawaii) would be complete without the pig that is cooked in the underground oven (imu). Germaines does offer traditional American fare in addition to their Hawaiian menu. Their menu includes:
- Kalua Pig (Roasted Pig)
- Chicken Long Rice
- Lomilomi Salmon
- Poi (Taro Potato)
- Haupia (Coconut Pudding) - one of my all-time favorites
- Island Fish
- Teriyaki Beef
- Fried Chicken
- Fresh Pineapple
- Pineapple Coleslaw
- Three Bean Salad
- Tossed Green Salad
- Dinner Rolls
- Vanilla Coconut Cake
- Chocolate Cake
You also get unlimited soft drinks and three beverage coupons for those over the age of 21.
Once dinner starts to wind down, the show begins so use those coupons up because you don't want to miss the show! The show features performances from Tonga, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, and the very popular Samoan fire dancer.
Of course, the highlight of your Hawaiian luau should be learning how to dance...and the best way to learn is to get up there and do it!
- 2009 Rates
The thing I like about Germaines luau is they have the best pricing for children and are more generous in their age classifications. They also include round-trip transportation in their pricing...and that bus ride is half the fun!
- Hours: Luau begins at 6:00 p.m. and show ends at 8:45 p.m. daily. This does not include pick-up and drop-off times. Parking is free.
